Mrs. Lakshmi Kumari is a celebrated Sri Lankan cake artist, educator, and creative visionary whose name has become synonymous with excellence in sugar craft. With over a decade of experience in the confectionery arts, she has inspired thousands of students and transformed Sri Lanka’s cake industry through her passion, innovation, and commitment to raising standards.
What began as a personal love for baking has grown into an influential career marked by artistry, dedication, and international recognition. Her mastery of sugar flowers, wedding cake design, sculpted cakes, advanced royal icing, and modern decorating techniques has earned her numerous accolades both locally and globally. She continues to redefine creative boundaries, setting new benchmarks for quality and creativity.
As the Founder and Director of Lakshmi Kumari International Sugar Studio & Campus (ISSC), she has built a learning environment where students not only gain skills but also discover confidence, discipline, and their own creative identity. Under her leadership, ISSC has become one of Sri Lanka’s most trusted and respected institutions for cake design education—renowned for its hands-on training, industry-aligned courses, and nurturing, student-focused culture.
